Are you part of the 51% ?

According to the 2021 Physician Burnout Report of over 12,000 physicians surveyed, 51% of women physicians (compared with 36% of men) reported experiencing burnout. The gap between women and men physicians actually widened last year.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So 1 in 2 women physicians are struggling with this...and it's completely unacceptable.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here’s the thing, we can’t fix the problem of burnout by bypassing it. What I’ve learned is the way out of any challenging or difficult situation is by going THROUGH it. Your breakthrough is often on the other side.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Early in my career, I was suddenly the only physician in the practice when the medical director left. My caseload essentially doubled overnight and it took several months for HR to hire and onboard a new medical director. It was a very dark time but I discovered the meaning of TRUE faith, resilience and grit.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Unfortunately it took me a few more years to discover the power of embodiment coaching which changed EVERYTHING.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What is embodiment? It's simply inhabiting your body and being present to how you’re ACTUALLY feeling in the moment. You welcome the experience (whether it’s positive OR negative) and navigate it somatically.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The beauty of embodiment is that it works for ALL areas of your life from relationships to finances to physical health. So I believe embodiment has the potential to eliminate burnout in medicine.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As a certified embodiment coach, I plan to share a lot more about this in the future because I believe these tools can bring the percentage of women in medicine who are burned out closer to 0%.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
At least, that’s my mission.
